Wedding Honeymoon Ideas for Every Filipino

A honeymoon is much more than a regular vacation. It is a special, private time for you and your spouse to celebrate your marriage before facing the realities of the real world. According to marriage experts, honeymoons are incredibly important as the joy felt during a honeymoon helps solidify the foundation of your lifelong commitment to your husband or wife. Aside from that, revisiting memories of your honeymoon is a source of strength that is necessary down the line, when some of the struggles of long-term relationships begin to emerge.

While you might feel some pressure thinking of wedding honeymoon ideas, don’t stress – I’m here to help! Here are the best ways to prepare for your honeymoon and in no particular order, here are the top romantic places in the world that are perfect for newlyweds on their honeymoon!

Plan Ahead

The key to a perfect honeymoon, no matter where in the world you decide to go to, is proper planning! Make sure to book flights and reservations ASAP! You can even consider enlisting the help of a travel agent to ensure that your trip goes as smoothly as possible.

When preparing, one step that you should definitely not miss is getting your teeth whitened! During your honeymoon, you and your partner will undoubtedly be taking pictures that you’ll look back on countless times in the future and that you’ll even frame and hang up in your shared home. While you can bring teeth whitening products with you on your trip, to truly ensure that your smile is picture-perfect, nothing beats a teeth whitening session

The Smile Bar is the best place in the Philippines to get your teeth whitened! It has two branches, one in Uptown Parade, BGC, and the other in Ayala Malls, Vertis North. At The Smile Bar, you’re guaranteed teeth that are 2-9 shades whiter in just 20 minutes

Top Honeymoon Destinations

The Philippines

You don’t have to travel far to have a memorable honeymoon. When thinking of wedding honeymoon ideas, don’t discount local options! The Philippines is full of the most beautiful beach destinations that attract travelers from all over the world, especially during the dry season, which is from December to May.

Boracay, Siargao, and Palawan are some of the top places to visit in the country.

Japan

Japan is a beautiful country all year round, but I recommend going to Japan in the springtime so you can see the cherry blossoms in full bloom! Late March to mid-April is the ideal time to visit the country to see it blanketed in soft pink hues. The sight is nothing less than magical!

Japan is only a 4-hour direct flight away from the Philippines, making it a very convenient honeymoon destination.

South Korea

South Korea is another convenient honeymoon destination, as Seoul is also only a 4-hour direct flight from the Philippines. I recommend going to South Korea during the fall, which is between September and November. During this time of the year, the weather is very pleasant and cool. You can walk to your favorite K-drama filming locations without breaking a sweat!

To see the beauty of Korea from above, visit the highest point in Seoul and a familiar place for K-drama lovers, The Namsan Seoul Tower or The N Seoul Tower.

France

What better place to go to for romance than Paris, the City of Love? This wedding honeymoon idea might be a cliche, but it’s a cliche for a good reason! In fact, I’d like to consider it a classic rather than a cliche.

There are many romantic things to do in Paris, which is what makes it such a great wedding honeymoon idea. For example, there are museums where you can immerse yourself in art, like the Louvre or the Musée D’Orsay, and there are sight-seeing locations perfect for picture-taking, like the Notre Damne Cathedral or the Arc De Triomphe

Relative to the other honeymoon destinations on this list, France is quite a distance away from the Philippines – 6,897 miles away to be exact. But trust me, the trip is worth it!

Iceland

A trip to Iceland doesn’t immediately come to mind when thinking of wedding honeymoon ideas for every Filipino. But, it should! Don’t let the 6,681-mile distance faze you. A honeymoon trip to Iceland is one for the books!

If your priority is to see the Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights, I recommend visiting this beautiful country in the wintertime, which is between September and April. During these months, the nights are dark and long, which serves as the perfect backdrop to see the Aurora Borealis. Visiting Iceland during the summer is also a treat. Between May and August, the sun never fully sets. Even at midnight, the sky is a kaleidoscope of reds, pinks, and purples.
